About Lexmark Beagles
Lexmark Beagles is located in Warman, SK.
We are a small hobby kennel and are striving to produce beagles with excellent temperaments maintaining sound health. I breed my dogs for show and to maintain my breeding program. Not all puppies however are destined to be show puppies, therefore, those are carefully placed into caring and loving pet homes. We usually only breed one litter per year.
I am a member in good standing with the CKC, and the Beagle Club of Western Canada. I currently hold the Treasurer position on the Beagle Club of Western Canada and previously have held other Executive positions.
The beagle is a hearty hound from the time it is in its infancy, right up to its senior years. Each has their own unique personality which will provide you with hours and years of entertainment. Some are absolute clowns and can continue that way well throughout their adult lives. Being a scent hound, the beagles nose plays a great importance to them. If you wish to have a dog that you can have off leash, then perhaps a beagle or a scent hound is not for you. I can not emphasize enough for you to do your homework first on the breed before checking out the various breeders. As well, the beagle can be a very active dog in its younger years and will require daily exercise. This exercise should consist of walks at least once to two times a day. Not just walking to the end of the street to pick up your mail either. If you don't give your beagle the exercise, you could be faced with an obesity problem and obesity is a hard problem to cure! Often enough, people fall in love with the beagle puppy. With those sad puppy dog eyes, those velvety soft droopy ears...who can resist! When the puppy reaches his adult years, and the novelty has worn off, the puppy gets pushed aside. This can and will only cause further grief for the both of you! There are far too many beagles in rescue! Save this from happening and do all your homework first!
Prior to breeding any of our dogs, we do various health testing on our breeding stock. Our dogs are not bred until they reach the minimum age of two to three years. We have participated in the Beagle Genetics Survey and the DNA project at Davis University in California. We currently are doing our health testing through Embark through Cornell University. Click here to order your health kit today!
Our beagles are all health tested and are guaranteed. Our puppies will be de-wormed and will have had at least their first set of shots (sometimes their second). We microchip the puppies through the Canadian Kennel Club and family companions will be registered on Non-Breeding Registrations. Show puppies are sold on full Registrations.
Come on in, have a sniff around and meet the Beagles of Lexmark!
