Canadian Champion Lenwin's High Hopes Hijinx ~ Lexi
Lexi came from Shirley Winslow of Lenwin Beagles in East Braintree, Manitoba. I recall contacting Shirley, and telling her that I was interested in a show quality female! Afte a rigorous phone interview, I was still not sure if she woulld sell me a puppy. She had just done a breeding and she was also thinking of placing a 6 month old puppy to show. When the puppy was delivered (she was a singleton), I called faithfully every week to see how puppy was and if Shirley decided yet. I did end up getting the puppy from Shirley and we have become good friends since. I know I can ask her anything! Thank you Shirley for this wonderful precious dog you have given me.
Lexi has become a spoiled princess and she knows it. Lexi's first time in the ring, she came out with a Puppy Group. She had some other puppy group placements, and regular group placements as well. She wasn't the happiest of girls in the show ring, and her retirement show was the 2002 Lower Mainland Show in Abbotsford, BC.
Lexi is the foundation for Lexmark Beagles. She has one daughter (Billie), two grandchildren (Sawyer and Robynn) and now one great grand daughter Tess who will continue her contribution to our breeding program. Lexi was bred twice and has 3 championed children (Katie, Billie and Niki). Lexi's true calling is laying on her big round bed under the coffee table or stetching out as far as she can on the bed, being the princess she is.
Lexi is so much more that a show dog, or a foundation bitch....she is my best friend! Lexi came to me at a time in my life when there was a lot of change. She can read me like a book! For people who think beagles are stupid, they need to meet Lexi! When God made Lexi, he definitely broke that mold...there will never be another one like her!
